CainThaProphet unveils his new single, “Shoebox Sermons”, a hip-hop street gospel inspired by Rylo Rodriguez. He discusses secrets, redemption, and his upcoming album, “Lost Files”.

  1. How would you describe your new song to someone who hasn’t heard it yet? What emotions do you want to convey?

I’d describe CainThaProphet – Shoebox Sermons as a gritty, pain-soaked street gospel wrapped in rap form. The title itself carries double meaning:

“Shoebox” — a metaphor for hustler’s storage, whether it’s hidden cash, unspoken truths, or memories you keep locked away. It gives the music a raw, underground feel, like secrets tucked under the bed.

“Sermons” — spiritual undertones, where every verse feels like a testimony, a confession, or a warning. Instead of a preacher in a pulpit, it’s Cain in the trenches giving life lessons through rhyme.

The overall vibe:

Street scriptures — coded bars, layered metaphors, and survival wisdom.

Cinematic pain — like watching scenes of hustling, betrayal, and redemption play out in slow motion.

Duality — half confessions, half motivation; balancing sins with prayers.

Mystique — the title suggests it’s not just music, but hidden knowledge only revealed if you listen closely.

Think of it like a street Bible written in blood and shoebox dust, where CainThaProphet blends hustler parables with soul-bearing confessions.

2. What was the main inspiration for the song? Can you share personal stories or influences that guided you?

Shoebox Sermon was my first song in the studio.
I Listen to a lot of Rylo Rodriguez, and he’s my favorite artist. just wanted to put out a body of work that brought that feel out and hopefully audience feel the same. Most of the music I make it so anyone can catch a vibe when ACTUALLY listening.

3. How did the song come about? Were there any collaborations?
