SHV presents “NASHA”: a fusion of House, urban vibes, and Punjabi roots. Discover the story behind the high-energy track in this interview.

1 – How would you describe your new song to someone who hasn’t heard it yet? What emotions do you want to convey?

NASHA is a high-energy track.. intoxicating, made to get you moving. It’s an experience you feel with every beat switch. That nightlife energy, global sound, representing my Toronto upbringing and South Asian roots. It’s something fresh that makes you feel alive and definitely something different for India and myself.

2 – What was the main inspiration for the song? Can you share personal stories or influences that guided you?

NASHA is about that one girl whose eyes get me higher every time she looks my way. She doesn’t even have to speak….you can read everything she’s saying just from her eyes. It’s flirty, energetic and meant to be played loud, whether you’re in the club or riding through the city.

3 – How did the song come about? Were there any collaborations?

The song actually came together in Toronto when I sat down with one of India’s most respected writers, Lally Mundi, who’s written major hits for artists like Diljit Dosanjh and Deep Jandu. I’ve known him for a while and we always talked about working together, but our worlds and styles were pretty different.

When we finally linked up, I started building this groove and humming melodies over the beat, explaining the feeling and story I wanted the song to have. Lally instantly caught the vibe and began writing Punjabi lyrics to the melodies I had. That moment really created something unique — my urban melodies mixed with his powerful Punjabi songwriting.

After recording the initial vocals, I started experimenting with the production. I played around with house, techno, jersey club, and EDM influences because I wanted the track to feel like an experience where the energy keeps evolving. Once I locked in the arrangement and recorded the final vocals, I sent everything to Adam Fair to mix and master the record.

4 – Which artists or experiences influenced your sound?

Growing up in Toronto, I was exposed to so many different sounds .. pretty much every genre and language. My main influences were Punjabi music, hip-hop, and R&B. One thing I always noticed, especially in nightlife around the world, is that no matter the language, people connect through the same energy… club anthems that bring everyone together.

On the Punjabi side, artists like Deep Jandu, Karan Aujla, and AP Dhillon really opened my eyes to how Punjabi music could evolve with a modern, global sound. On the electronic side, artists like Tiësto have been inspiring with the way they create massive energy for the dance floor. That mix of sounds and cultures is what really shapes the music I make.

5 – Is there a particular moment related to the creation of the song that you remember with pleasure or satisfaction?

One moment that really stuck with me was when I played the song for Deep Jandu and KV Dhillon. They immediately caught the vibe and were genuinely excited about the sound. Seeing their reaction meant a lot to me because they’ve both played such important roles in the Punjabi music scene. Their excitement was contagious, and that moment gave me the confidence to really stand behind the record and share it with the world.

6 – What emotions do you hope to convey to the public?

I want people to feel energized, confident, and a little intoxicated by the vibe of the song. It’s that feeling you get when the music hits and the energy in the room changes…whether you’re in the club, driving around the city, or just with friends. At the same time, there’s that flirty emotion behind it too, the idea of being pulled in by someone’s presence without them even saying a word.

7 – What can we expect from the future? Do you have any news coming?

NASHA is just the beginning. It’s the first of six songs we’re rolling out, so definitely stay locked in for the next five. Right now I’m also putting the final touches on two EPs, and there are a bunch of singles and collaborations on the way. There’s a lot of new music coming, and this is really just the start of the next chapter.

8 – What message would you like to give to those who follow you or discover you for the first time?

Welcome to the world of SHV. Play NASHA, follow me, and feel the energy … this is the vibe I’m bringing, and it’s only getting bigger. Stick around, there’s more coming, and I’m bringing a new energy with every release.
